The Warren County Board of Health elected Dr. Elton Brown as board chair and Alan Daeke as vice chair at its meeting Tuesday at the Warren County Health Department.
Secretary and Health Director Dr. Margaret Brake opened the meeting, conducted roll call and had Attorney Shiekel Richardson administer the oath to newly appointed board member Latarshia Turner-Brothers. Commissioner Bertadean Baker participated by conference call.
Candice White nominated Dr. Elton Brown for chair; Dr. Robert Stewart seconded the nomination and the motion passed unanimously by a show of hands. After Dr. James Crenshaw declined consideration for vice chair, Mrs. White nominated Alan Daeke; Dr. Crenshaw seconded and that motion also passed unanimously. Dr. Crenshaw moved to waive the conflict-of-interest statement, a motion seconded by Mrs. White and adopted without objection.
There was no public comment. The board approved the November 2025 meeting minutes as amended after Mr. Daeke noted his name was recorded incorrectly. The board also received and accepted the finance report. "The master revenue report for December has exceeded more than 100% in a couple of line items; currently we are at 67% collection for this fiscal year. We are working tirelessly to collect revenue," Dr. Brake said while presenting the finance summary. Dr. Robert Stewart moved to accept the finance report; Dr. Crenshaw seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The board approved Statements of Interest for reappointment for Linda Baker, pharmacist, and Kaye Hall, nurse. Dr. Crenshaw moved to approve the statements and Mrs. White seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The board set no additional votes on policy at the session and adjourned after routine business. The next regular meeting is scheduled for March 17, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
