Board approves permanent relocation of North Dale Academy to former Belfair campus after public concern

The motion to approve was made and seconded during the meeting and passed without recorded opposition. The relocation was presented as an agenda item giving the board authority to authorize the move.
During public comment, Storm Matthews said a different school had been told the Belfair campus was unsuitable and said that its teachers lacked adequate space. “There is a school that also has to move and requested or asked why the Belfair campus could not be used and said that that campus was not suitable for any other school,” Matthews said, asking why that school had not been included in consolidation plans.
Board members did not reverse the decision; the relocation motion carried. The board did not record additional conditions or implementation dates during the meeting. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for July 23, when members may revisit related operational details or accept presentations about the relocation’s logistics.
