Commission directs staff to review cemetery rates; burial and sales counts reported

The Cemetery-Parks Commission directed staff to evaluate cemetery rates and fees and to gather rate comparisons from surrounding municipalities.
Assistant City Manager/Finance Director Kevin Plockmeyer presented burial and sales figures for 2025: Lincoln burials — residents 5, non-residents 8; Felch burials — residents 2, non-residents 1; columbarium burials — residents 0, non-residents 1. Sales in 2025 were reported as: Lincoln — residents 0, non-residents 0; Felch — residents 8, non-residents 10; columbarium — residents 1, non-residents 4.
Plockmeyer said staff will return with comparative rate data to inform any recommended fee changes. No specific rate changes were proposed at the Dec. 10 meeting.
