Commissioners approve routine contracts, grants and facility repairs; juvenile center chiller contract passes

Oklahoma County commissioners approved a series of routine contracts, grant receipts and intergovernmental agreements during their meeting, including a grant to reimburse District 3 for equipment, renewal MOUs with MetroTech and a chiller replacement contract for the Juvenile Justice Center.
District 3’s item to accept Department of Environmental Quality grant funds not to exceed $26,400 to reimburse the district for a forestry mulching head was approved by motion. County clerk staff presented the annual federal grant report for fiscal 2025, listing receipts of $735,832.87 and expenses of $226,001,487.19; the board voted to receive the report.
A change order for the courthouse front entrance performed by Cooley Construction—adding pull stations, a security camera, mag locks and additional electrical work—was approved for $18,740. Separately, the board approved a construction contract with WSM MEP to replace chillers at the Juvenile Justice Center for $858,788.
Other items approved included renewed MOUs with MetroTech covering a full-time instructor and peace officer academy arrangements, and the Bank of Oklahoma annual bank fee agreement covering deposit accounts and safekeeping services. The board also approved consent-docket items 5 through 19 and routine PBA trustee items, including a transfer correction of approximately $149,571 and use of tables and chairs for a Diversion Hub warrant-clearing event on July 24.
