Council member Jim reported that the borough executed a state pilot-program agreement providing a $250,000 grant to expand senior-wellness programming. "We executed the agreement with the state for the pilot program, which is a $250,000 grant for senior wellness," Jim said, and noted departments under the direction of Adriana and Recreation and Human Services will build out the programming.
Jim also said the council accepted the borough’s 2025 audit; he said the audit “did not come back with any recommendations and stated that we were in full compliance as far as their review goes,” and he thanked the CFO Tom Seaman and his team.
Several council members reflected on recent community events: the Marine Park opening, multiple watch parties and downtown activities that drew large crowds. The deputy mayor said the Marine Park opening attracted "over 3,000 people," and one council member noted other events drew roughly 1,100 and 1,800 attendees on other occasions.
Before closing the public portion of the meeting, the mayor moved to adjourn into executive session. Borough attorney Greg said the council would discuss matters covered by attorney–client privilege—specifically affordable-housing litigation compliance—expected to last about 20 minutes and that no action would follow the executive session.
Next steps: staff will proceed with grant implementation plans for senior wellness programming and the council reconvened only to adjourn after the executive session, with no additional actions announced publicly.
