Barbara, introduced during the meeting as the acting vice president of the Arc of Monmouth board of directors, accepted the proclamation and thanked the borough. She urged residents to contact elected officials if they are concerned about funding for disability-support organizations and encouraged civic engagement. “If you have the time, you have the energy, look up something and write a letter,” Barbara said, naming elected officials as examples for outreach.
The proclamation also recognized local caregivers, advocates, educators and health professionals and encouraged the borough to continue improving accessibility across civic, social, educational and cultural life.
