The Shelby City Council opened its June 4 meeting with routine business and unanimous procedural votes, then heard a resident raise a drainage concern.
The council approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Councilmember Pat Honeywell, seconded by Jackie Hursey; the minutes record a roll-call vote of “all ayes.” The consent agenda was later approved on a motion by Schlueter, seconded by Honeywell, and included approval of minutes from May 7 and May 21, approval of bills, and cigarette permits for businesses listed as 'Taylor' and 'Loves.' The minutes do not provide further detail on the cigarette permits.
Resident Rod Robinson told the council that several tubes and drain tiles needed cleaning. According to the minutes, staff said they will continue to monitor and clean out affected drainage elements as needed.
Council members also discussed obtaining a nuisance officer to address local concerns; no action or formal direction was recorded at this meeting.
The meeting record notes Item e (Tax Credit Application) was removed from the agenda and the meeting adjourned at 8:03 p.m.
