Shelby council approves Meadows plat, two ordinances and routine business
Summary
At its Aug. 6 meeting, the Shelby City Council adopted Resolution 8-24 approving the Meadows subdivision plat, passed two ordinances (2024.02 and 2024.03), approved a $9,940 tree-removal contract and approved routine consent items including a liquor license renewal for Love’s.
The Shelby City Council on Aug. 6 approved a series of routine and ordinance actions by unanimous roll-call votes.
The council adopted Resolution 8-24 to approve the Meadows subdivision final plat. The council also introduced and approved Ordinance No. 2024.02, which amends zoning regulations to allow conditional use permits for campground and hotel/motel uses to offer renewable long-term stays up to 30 days; the council waived the second and third readings and declared the ordinance adopted upon publication. The council likewise passed Ordinance No. 2024.03 amending regulations for trees in the city right-of-way; second and third readings were waived and the ordinance declared adopted upon publication.
The council approved a bid from Ridgeline, LLC to remove dead and damaged trees from the city right-of-way for $9,940. The consent agenda — which the council approved by roll call on a motion from Council Member Karen Schlueter and a second from Council Member Todd Frank — included approval of minutes for July 2 and July 16, payment of bills, the treasurer’s report and renewal of Love’s liquor license.
All recorded votes on motions in the meeting were unanimous (roll call: all ayes). No oral public comments were recorded for the two hearings held that evening.
