Williams Township supervisors authorize conservation-easement agreements, approve zoning fix and set 2025 road projects

Vice Chairperson Raymond Abert called the Williams Township Board of Supervisors to order at 7:00 p.m. on Feb. 12, 2025. Supervisors Raymond Abert (Vice Chairperson) and Michael Bryant (Supervisor) approved the Jan. 6, 2025 minutes and the February expense report and authorized payment of the bills; both motions carried 2-0.
Township Manager Melody Ernst presented her manager's report and announced a community shredding event set for May 3, 2025. Public Works Director Michael Strawn asked the Board to authorize advertising for the township's 2025 road projects; the Board approved that advertising (motion carried 2-0). Strawn also said staff will obtain pricing for a municipal-building generator.
The Board authorized solicitor Colby Grim to prepare Agreements of Sale to purchase conservation easements on three parcels identified by the Land Preservation Board and Heritage Conservancy: 2145 Morgan Hill Road (Kutz), 2155 Morgan Hill Road (Kutz) and 1075 Morvale Road (Derrington). Matt Babbitt of Heritage Conservancy provided a brief explanation of the parcels; each authorization carried 2-0.
During Recreation Board business, the Board accepted the resignation of Recreation Board member Holly Molder. The Recreation Board requested several maintenance tasks — filling holes and rolling Chrinergy soccer fields, installing alternate-parking signs at Raubsville Field, repairing a broken T-ball outfield fence and replacing batting-cage netting; Public Works committed to address those items. The Board approved Wilson Youth Soccer Association's use of Chrinergy Field for the upcoming season "contingent on all Township requirements" (motion carried 2-0).
Township Engineer Ronald Madison reviewed his Feb. 7 memorandum; the solicitor's report was provided for review. At a public hearing the Board considered a Zoning MDR Amendment (Ordinance 2025-01). Solicitor Colby Grim explained a typographical error in the ordinance text, no members of the public spoke, and the Board approved Ordinance 2025-01 (motion carried 2-0).
The Board approved several administrative appointments and a revised fee schedule: it appointed Keith Rau as Zoning Hearing Board alternate (Resolution 2025-10), appointed Matthew Wojaczyk to the Appeals Board, approved a revised fee schedule updating Zoning Hearing Board fees (Resolution 2025-11), and appointed Michael Cortwright to the Land Preservation Board. Each vote carried 2-0.
Supervisor Michael Bryant thanked those who attended and Vice Chairperson Abert complimented Public Works on keeping township roads safe. There were no audience comments recorded; the meeting adjourned at 8:14 p.m.
