Williams Township OKs seasonal hire, accepts foreman’s resignation and approves $11,140 backup sewer pump

Public Works Director Michael Strawn said the township recently experienced a pump failure at the Cedar Park pump station, the main station that runs to the sewer plant, and that the township currently lacked a backup: "They recently had a pump go down at the Cedar Park pump station, which is the main pump station that runs to the sewer plant. They currently do not have a backup pump," Strawn said. The board voted 3-0 to approve buying a second pump at a cost of $11,140.00 plus freight.
On staffing, the board voted 3-0 to hire a seasonal public works employee. Supervisors also approved accepting the resignation of Foreman Donald Hockman from the foreman position while retaining him as a CDL employee; the motion to accept the resignation passed "with regret." The board approved a list of surplus items from Public Works to be posted for sale on Municibid.
