Williams Township seeks generator quotes, schedules Morvale Road paving and hears Oakleigh Knoll update

The Williams Township Board on Aug. 14 directed Public Works Director Michael Strawn to obtain quotes for a larger whole-building generator after discussing whether to retrofit the existing unit or install a generator capable of powering the township building and the well pump.
Strawn briefed the board on two paths: keep the current generator and add air conditioning to it, or purchase and install a larger unit that would run the entire building and the well pump. The board asked staff to solicit bids and return with cost estimates and recommendations at the next meeting.
Strawn also told the board that Morvale Road will be shut down during daytime hours week of Aug. 19 for preparations and paving work.
Township Engineer Ronald Madison reported that Grace Industries had requested a punch list from Colliers Engineering & Design for Oakleigh Knoll Phase I and said he is hopeful the phase will be complete by fall. Colliers also recommended the partial release of security for the Tumble Creek subdivision, which the board approved.
Next steps: Strawn will gather generator quotes and provide options to the board at the September meeting; Public Works will coordinate Morvale Road closures with affected residents and contractors; the engineer and Colliers will complete punch-list verification for Oakleigh Knoll Phase I.
