Developers seeking approval of a 67‑lot subdivision called Bickley Hollow updated the Hobart City Redevelopment Authority on financing and scheduling and asked for an extension on their petition (23‑12).
The petitioner said market conditions have recently improved, they have roughly 45 presold homes across projects, have met with Baker Tilly, made a $156,000 commitment to the project via Baker Tilly, and now intend to buy the property outright rather than rely on the earlier deed arrangement. The developer said his excavator should be available “in the next couple [of] months” and asked the board for more time to finalize permitting and start infrastructure work.
Commissioner Marco Rodriguez recommended a one‑year extension to accommodate planning and city review, but board members decided a six‑month extension was appropriate, noting the developer can return for further updates. A motion to grant a six‑month extension passed by voice vote.
The extension is intended to give the petitioner time to secure financing, finalize property acquisition and begin site work while the planning department continues its review.
