Council approves $15,000 allocation for Fourth of July parade security

On June 22, 2026, Enumclaw’s City Council approved Resolution No. 1,881, authorizing the mayor to execute Amendment No. 1 to the provision of services agreement with the Enumclaw Chamber of Commerce to provide additional funding for Fourth of July parade security.
Parks Director Lina Hicks explained the resolution would allocate $15,000 already authorized by council across three uses: $8,500 for parade route barriers, $2,500 to cover overtime compensation for six additional city staff to help staff the event, and $4,000 to the Chamber of Commerce to hire security and event staffing. "The funds have already been authorized by council. This would just kind of break it up of how we're going to spend it," Hicks said and recommended approval.
Council moved to approve the resolution; the motion was seconded and the resolution passed by voice vote with no opposition recorded.
Next steps: the mayor is authorized to execute the amendment to the Chamber agreement as described.
