Campton selectmen unanimously approve three tax abatements and $2,400 tax-map contract

The Town of Campton Board of Selectmen on Feb. 17 unanimously approved three property tax abatements, authorized a $2,400 contract for tax-map maintenance with CAI Technologies and briefly entered a nonpublic session, the board's minutes show.
Chair Sharon Davis opened the meeting at 3:31 p.m. and the board voted to enter a nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:3, II (a) at 3:31 p.m.; the public session was reconvened at 4:10 p.m.
During the public session the board heard brief reports. Chair Davis summarized Department Heads' reports and town employee Charlie Smith presented his report to the board. Selectman Mort Donahue reported he attended training for the new voting machine; Selectman Sherrill Howard provided updates for the Planning Board and the Parks, Recreation and Land Acquisition Committee (PRLAC).
On routine business the board removed the Feb. 3 nonpublic minutes from the consent agenda because members had not had a chance to review them; Selectman Mort Donahue moved to approve the remaining consent agenda, Selectman Sherrill Howard seconded, and the motion passed unanimously.
Taxes and abatements Selectman Sherrill Howard moved to approve a $1,047.60 abatement for Ellen J. Garrity of 219 Owl St.; the motion was seconded by Selectman Mort Donahue and approved unanimously. Howard then moved to approve a $1,180.88 abatement for Melissa and Brian Barboza at 27 Condo Rd., Unit 2; Selectman Karl Kelly seconded and the motion was unanimously approved. Finally, Selectman Karl Kelly moved to approve a $2,105 abatement for Schroeder at 27 Condo Rd., Unit 1, to waive any interest accumulated since the second billing and to refund $361.35; Selectman Sherrill Howard seconded and the motion was unanimously approved. The three abatements total $4,333.48; the Schroeder action also included a $361.35 refund.
Contract approval Selectman Mort Donahue moved to approve tax-map maintenance services with CAI Technologies for $2,400; Selectman Sherrill Howard seconded and the motion was unanimously approved.
The board recorded that no members of the public took the privilege of the floor. With there being no further business the board adjourned at 4:23 p.m.
