Selectmen approve corrected manifest and several small procurements; earlier manifest withdrawn

The Town of Chichester Board of Selectmen on May 26 approved a corrected Accounts Payable and Payroll Manifest and a series of small expenditures while withdrawing an earlier motion after identifying errors in the original paperwork.
A previously submitted manifest listing $568,748.07—containing a $546,331 school payment—was found to be incorrect because payroll totals were not properly reflected and approving it would overdraw town accounts. Because of those errors the initial approval motion was withdrawn and a corrected manifest totaling $65,774.76 was produced and approved. Selectmen Carrie, Jeremy and Matt each voted Aye on the corrected manifest. The board agreed to notify the school district contact (Amber) that the school payment would be delayed pending corrected documentation.
The board also approved $100 from the Parks & Recreation Capital Reserve Fund to replace boards on the boardwalk damaged by fire; the motion passed unanimously. Trustees will be notified to release the funds.
For town facilities and equipment, the board accepted a proposal from A.J. LeBlanc Heating to replace the town-office boiler with a high-efficiency propane system for $14,586.26, conditional on funds being available. The boiler vote was unanimous. A separate $853 quote to replace UPS batteries was reviewed but the board withdrew the motion pending consultation with the town IT vendor (Block 5) because the UPS may be repairable at lower cost.
Several agenda items—most notably replacement of the town’s fire-alarm monitoring system after Concord Fire discontinues service on July 1—were reviewed but deferred so members could study varying and partially incomplete vendor quotes. The board expressed a preference for cellular monitoring rather than dial-up but took no formal procurement action at the meeting.
The meeting adjourned after the day’s business; the adjournment motion passed by unanimous vote.
