The council voted to accept both resignations in separate motions.
Mayor Hal Haeker and council members discussed next steps for filling the positions. Councilman Tom Moulton suggested placing advertisements for the city clerk and administrator positions in local outlets and the League magazine; the council agreed. The motions to accept Dietz’s and Ardiana’s resignations passed on roll-call votes: Clerk resignation (mover: Larry Casper; second: Chris Mahalek) and administrator resignation (mover: Larry Casper; second: Tom Moulton). Votes were recorded as yes from Casper, Mahalek, Moulton and Wheeler in both matters.
Council members did not set hiring timelines at the meeting. The council directed staff to advertise the openings and to return applications or recommendations to the next council meeting for further action.
