Alma — At its May 4 meeting the Alma City Council approved two resolutions: one authorizing the sale and notice for a Behlen storage building at the city golf course, and the other awarding a five-year mowing contract.
City Attorney Doug Walker explained state statute requires a resolution and public notice before selling city real estate when a structure has a value of $5,000 or more. Cody Simmons asked that the notice include a requirement that any purchaser remove the structure within 90 days; the council approved Resolution #4-2026 and the corrected notice on a motion by Joel Wheeler, seconded by Larry Casper.
Administrator Steve Ardiana presented Resolution #5-2026, a five-year mowing contract with TNT Lawn Service covering city park grounds, the swimming-pool area, the baseball complex and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers land from May 2026 through October 2031. The council approved the contract on a motion by Tom Moulton, seconded by Chris Mahalek.
Both resolutions passed with recorded yes votes from the four council members who voted during each motion. No amendments to the contracts or sale notice were recorded beyond the 90-day removal condition requested during the sale discussion.
