Alma council approves $370,021 in claims and funds airport hangar work

On a motion by Joel Wheeler, seconded by Tom Moulton, the council approved the claims for April 16–May 4, 2026. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with Wheeler, Moulton, Chris Mahalek and Larry Casper voting yes.
City Administrator Steve Ardiana told the council the Olsson project (project #024-02280; AIP Project No. 3-31-004-014) will be fully funded through entitlement transfers: $150,000 from Fairmont State Airfield (non-primary), $9,000 from the Nebraska Department of Transportation Aeronautics Division (non-primary), and $150,000 from Harvard State Airfield (non-primary). The council voted to accept those transfers on a motion by Mahalek, seconded by Moulton.
The council also approved invoice #573543 (summary #9) for $5,500 related to the Alma Storm & Hangar project on a motion by Mahalek and seconded by Moulton. Ardiana said the project will be funded entirely by the listed transfers.
The council accepted the Treasurer’s report on a motion by Moulton, seconded by Mahalek. Treasurer Tashia Fleischmann presented department balances and cash-position details during the meeting.
No further action was required; the council moved on to other agenda items.
