A representative of the Saratoga Economic Development Corporation (SEDC) briefed supervisors July 7 on 2025 results and 2026 activity, saying the organization helped enable about $406 million in new capital investment in 2025 (excluding the Regeneron project) and that Regeneron has committed approximately $2 billion for a development in the Grama Industrial Park in Saratoga Springs.
SEDC reported its 2025 activity included projects that together the presenter said would create roughly 960 full-time positions and retain about 476 jobs; the speaker also cited approximately 800 temporary construction jobs tied to those developments. The presenter said incentives such as sales-tax exemption certificates contributed to project feasibility and noted the Regeneron investment could create about 1,000 full-time jobs over three to five years and generate substantial annual payroll.
The presenter described a targeted national marketing campaign supported by a roughly $175,000 investment aimed at identifying supply-chain firms in six states; SEDC staff said they bolted an analytics tool called Project Engage onto their website to capture leads and inform outreach. The presenter urged supervisors to view SEDC’s materials on saratogaedc.com and distributed a written report and a video.
SEDC also acknowledged volunteer IDA boards and named local IDA leaders; the speaker credited Joe Pape and Pape Productions for producing the distributed video. Committee members thanked the presenter; no formal action was requested in this presentation.
