Beaver County commissioners approve proclamations, reappoint member to drug and alcohol advisory council

Beaver County commissioners convened their public meeting at 10 a.m. on July 9, 2026, and approved a series of routine agenda items including two proclamations and a reappointment to a citizen advisory council.
The board adopted a proclamation recognizing the week of July 6–10, 2026, as “Sean Owens’ Unity Week” in Beaver County and approved a separate proclamation designating a weekend in June 2026 as National Field Day for amateur radio operators in Beaver County. Both measures were presented by the solicitor and carried on voice votes.
Commissioners also approved minutes from recent meetings (June 25 public meeting; June 24 and July 1 work sessions), authorized payment of bills as presented by the deputy controller, and accepted the human resources personnel report. A motion to approve bid-opening meeting minutes (attachment B) was likewise approved.
On personnel business, the board moved to reappoint Ms. Lisa Conway, of 119 Cortez Lane, Freedom, PA 15042, to the Beaver County Drug and Alcohol Advisory Council for a three-year term commencing May 31, 2026, and expiring May 30, 2029; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
The county solicitor informed the board that Resolutions 070926-01 through 070926-26 had been reviewed by the law department and recommended for approval; the board approved the resolutions by voice vote.
The chair invited public comment on agenda and non-agenda items; no visitors spoke. The board announced its next public meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026, in the Commissioners’ Public Meeting Room, then moved to adjourn.
The meeting record reflects routine, noncontroversial business with no recorded public testimony or contested votes.
