New compactor installed at Georgetown transfer station; access to control panel remains unresolved

Town transfer station staff reported on Feb. 12 that Georgetown's new compactor has been installed and is performing well, but the installation team left a remaining issue requiring a physical access workaround.
Dave Polito explained that after the company completed the installation a technician resolved most issues but flagged the electrical control panel's required clearance. Polito said Winter Cucuzzo advised on the spacing requirement; Polito determined the panel can currently be accessed only by going over the compactor.
Jim Coombs, the transfer station manager, said station staff have adapted to the new unit and that he has arranged for volunteers and substitutes when needed. Polito thanked Ernie Freeberg for meeting the installation crew on site and said he is prepared to pay the installation invoice when it is received.
The committee did not take a formal action at the meeting but noted the outstanding installation detail and that payment is pending receipt of the invoice and any remaining service work.
