Waldo board approves ordinance broadening winter-parking restrictions to aid snow removal

President Travis Thomas explained the prior ordinance prohibited roadway parking during winter restrictions but did not address off-road parking that blocks plows.
Trustee Jerome Hammarlund moved to adopt the ordinance and Trustee Dennis Reinemann seconded; the motion carried. Under the ordinance, parking restrictions within the Village right-of-way will now explicitly cover vehicles, trailers and campers that impede snow-removal operations. The ordinance also updates penalties related to overnight parking on Village property to allow towing at the owner's expense.
Why it matters: the revision aims to reduce impediments to timely snow removal and clarify enforcement authority for Village staff. The Board did not attach a sunset or additional enforcement schedule to the ordinance during this meeting.
The ordinance was introduced and explained by President Thomas during the Jan. 12 meeting and carried on a motion by Trustee Hammarlund with a second from Trustee Reinemann. No vote tally was recorded in the minutes.
