Hartland selectmen approve minutes, authorize ballot filing and appoint KVCOG representative

At the Aug. 5 meeting the board voted 3-0 to approve amended minutes, authorize staff to file a Maine municipal ballot, move the Sept. meeting date and appoint John Hikel as the KVCOG representative with Christopher Littlefield as alternate; warrants were signed and the meeting adjourned at 6:56 p.m.
Hartland selectmen convened on Aug. 5, 2024, at the Irving Tanning Community Center and approved a set of routine administrative actions.
Mark Brooks read the minutes of the July 15, 2024 meeting. The board voted 3-0 to accept the minutes with an amendment clarifying that the previous "spill" on Pleasant Street was sludge from a vehicle tailgate. The selectmen also voted 3-0 to authorize Christopher Littlefield to fill out the Ballot for Maine Municipal Offices on behalf of the Town of Hartland and to move the scheduled Sept. 2 meeting to Sept. 3, 2024.
Selectmen signed the town revenue/expense report during the meeting. The board voted 3-0 to make John Hikel the town's official representative to KVCOG and to name Christopher Littlefield the alternate. The meeting concluded after warrants were signed and the board voted 3-0 to adjourn at 6:56 p.m.
Other agenda items noted for follow-up included a planned return of the local solar group in October and a request to scan and distribute materials for the downtown revitalization plan. Town staff also reported the Towle lawsuit remains active and attorneys were expected to be in contact.
