Judy Conrad, Lauderdale County Trustee, presented the county’s quarterly financial report at the commission meeting on May 12, 2025, reporting total assets of $53,985,177.37 and providing detailed listings of cash, accounts receivable and investments.
Conrad told commissioners the report shows $19,813,839.18 in cash in banks and $34,158,580.19 in investments as of April 30, 2025. The trustee included trial-balance schedules and a list of certificates of deposit with maturities and yields. The investment schedule in the packet included more than $31 million in CDs across multiple banks and a reported U.S. Treasury note purchase costing roughly $485,593.49.
Conrad also reported that $58,627.00 in 2023 delinquent Lauderdale County taxes were transferred to Chancery Court on April 8, 2025. She summarized the county’s 2024–25 tax-relief program, saying that the program served 582 applicants — 53 disabled (total $7,806), 40 disabled veterans ($26,841), 16 disabled-veteran widows/ers ($8,973) and 473 elderly applicants ($71,285) — for $114,905 paid to date; Conrad noted the state had not finished reviewing about 50 applications.
"It is my pleasure and honor to serve as your Trustee for Lauderdale County," Conrad said in the packet cover language, which she presented to commissioners as part of the report. The commission approved the trustee’s quarterly report by voice vote.
The trustee’s written report cites statutory reporting requirements; the packet references compliance with provisions identified in the meeting materials. Commissioners did not ask for additional financial detail during the meeting and accepted the report for the record.
