Board approves personnel slate including resignations, dozens of hires, two retirements and one non‑renewal

Assistant Superintendent Scotty Vermillion presented a comprehensive personnel report and the Board approved the slate on June 2.
Resignations approved included Sadie McAbee (speech therapist), Jonathan McCullough (teacher, effective June 30), Peyton Salyer (teacher), Dennis Winston (custodian), Jasmine Finch (teacher) and Aaron Williams (teacher), among others listed on the personnel appendix. The Board then approved numerous new hires for the 2026–27 school year, including Sarah Stacy as Band Director (Rye Cove High School), Keener Burke as Head Football Coach (Twin Springs High School) and appointments for teachers and coaches across the division; the packet lists more than two dozen individual hires and coaching appointments. The substitute list was approved as presented.
The Board accepted retirements for Charnita Adams (Head Start teacher) and Dawn Williams (teacher, effective Sept. 1, 2026). The Board approved the non‑renewal of the contract for Kim Hickman (teacher) effective at the end of the 2025–26 year. The employment motion for Cheyenne Osborne was approved with Mrs. Patricia Edwards recorded as abstaining on that employment.
The personnel items were approved by motions from board members as recorded in the minutes. The Board also granted several religious exemptions for named students and approved an overnight field trip for Twin Springs High School Band to Atlanta (June 7–10).
