Council reviews $35,000 engineering contract and street list for 2026 painting program

Baker listed proposed streets included in the project: John Street from State Street to West Roger; Brelsford from West Roger to West Aberdeen; all of Community Park; with Greenwood (North Miami to Westview) and East Roger (North Miami to East Aberdeen) noted as alternates. He said the scope includes pavement marking, curb and sidewalk work, ADA upgrades and driveway aprons on many blocks.
Council members asked how many streets would be completed and about mileage; Baker said two streets would be definite plus Community Park and two alternates, for a potential total of four streets with substantial concrete replacement. No formal vote on the contract was recorded during the work session; the item was presented as a motion for the manager to execute the contract.
