Abby Lang, health promotion director, updated the board on the status of the flavored tobacco ordinance review. She said a May 13 roundtable with industry retailers, commissioners and the chamber produced "really valuable feedback" and that the department is consulting with the city attorney, the Public Health Law Center and community partners.
Lang said there is no projected timeline for next steps because the review depends on partner availability and scheduling. She described the current work as a consultation and policy drafting phase rather than a finalized proposal. The board received the update and no formal action or ordinance vote was taken at the meeting.
