Tim Symonds, consultant for the project, told the board the renovation encountered several issues that needed addressing to ensure safety and functionality of the relocated watch office and noted additional exterior improvements including re-decorations and signage. Symonds presented the requested transfer and revised contract total of $1,220,327.04.
Vice Chairman Edward Gibbons moved to approve the change order and SPLOST transfer; Commissioner Charles W. Oddo seconded. The motion passed 3-0. Commissioners Eric K. Maxwell and Charles D. Rousseau were absent.
The item authorizes staff to process the SPLOST fund transfer and execute the change order with HEC Construction Solutions, LLC. Follow-up tasks assigned include processing the financial transfer and finalizing the contract modification; the county listed an implementation target date for administrative processing.
