Committee schedules meeting with police to discuss extending single-serve alcohol boundary toward River Street park
Summary
The License & Franchise Committee set a meeting with Police Chief Kidwell (July 27, 2:30 PM) to discuss extending the single-serve alcohol sales boundary down to River Street in advance of a new park opening; the session is planned as an open meeting unless more than three aldermen attend.
Under old business the committee revisited prior discussion about single-serve alcohol sale boundaries outside the downtown business district and agreed to consult Police Chief Kidwell about extending the boundary toward River Street ahead of an upcoming park opening. The chair said the meeting will occur July 27 at 2:30 PM and that Aldermen Barron and the chair plan to attend.
A committee member noted that if more than three aldermen attend the session will need to be noticed formally as a public meeting. The committee said it will bring any further recommendations back to the License & Franchise Committee and the ordinance committee as appropriate.
