The board approved Warrants #50 (April 28, 2026) and #51 (May 1, 2026). Payroll warrant #50 totaled $16,390.35 and accounts payable warrant #51 totaled $129,055.07, for a combined total of $145,445.42. The Treasurer’s report dated May 1, 2026 was accepted. The minutes record a Trio-General Ledger balance of $1,131,686.20 and a six-month certificate of deposit of $107,539.29; investment bonds were listed at $2,871,365.00 (4/17/2026) and $2,872,650.00 (5/1/2026). The Tax Collector’s report was also accepted; taxes receivable were listed as FY26 $342,681.50 and FY25 $13,690.19.
The board moved and approved, 3-0, to cancel the Selectmen meeting scheduled for June 29, 2026. Selectmen also approved and signed the warrant for an upcoming Town Meeting.
On land-use business, selectmen voted 3-0 to sign a right-of-way deed in favor of the Winter Harbor Historical Society. The board appointed Earl Blackney to the Utilities District Board of Trustees by a recorded 3-0 vote.
The board discussed renewal of a certificate of deposit but deferred a decision. According to the minutes, members instructed staff to compare the CD’s interest rate with the town’s sweep account before taking action.
Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb reported several operational items: a water heater in the gym was replaced after rust and leakage; a Scout cabin was vandalized and the doors secured while electricity work is arranged to allow camera installation; a dumpster has arrived for cleaning the garage, gym and fire house; and fire trucks are scheduled for pump testing Saturday. Liscomb also said there is a possible buyer for the marina who may convey the property to the town. The town report is complete except for the cover and will be available at the June 9 election. The Town Office will be closed May 8 and will open late May 13.
During public comment, R. Littlefield said, “the benches look great and inviting,” and asked whether the large amount of taxes still due was normal. S. Fortin asked, “Can we get the check amounts put on the agenda.”
