The resolution cites a need to adjust fees to reflect the Consumer Price Index and to harmonize an irregular fee structure with similar departments across the state. Under the new schedule, a well permit is set at $225 and a septic permit at $200. Residential structure fees are tiered: less than 1,500 square feet, $350; 1,500 to 2,499 square feet, $450; 2,500 square feet or more, $550. Fees for sheds and garages and other categories were also listed, along with a $500 fee for telecommunications towers and a $50 fee for signs; a late fee provision is noted in the schedule.
The board’s action was recorded in the resolution and attendant fee schedule entered into the meeting minutes. The resolution text states the fee changes are intended to more accurately reflect the cost of services provided by Planning and Zoning. No dissent or amendment was recorded during the vote.
The resolution takes effect as adopted; the Planning and Zoning Department will apply the updated schedule to applicable permit applications going forward.
