Pleasantville council adopts emergency credit-card policy and seasonal pool-staffing ordinance; approves $5,987 supplemental appropriation

Records, Rules and Law Committee member Councilwoman Courtney VanDyke moved to suspend the rules and declare Ordinance 06-11-26-01 an emergency; the motion was seconded and carried with President Snider absent. The council then voted to adopt Ordinance 06-11-26-01 establishing the village credit-card policy. VanDyke was listed as the sponsoring committee for the ordinance.
Mayor Michelle Dumolt explained the rationale for Ordinance 06-11-26-02, saying the village lacked enough lifeguards to cover all posted hours and the ordinance permits hiring a "hut person" to sign patrons in and collect fees to cover unstaffed shifts; it also allows lifeguards to work more than eight hours in a day with the mayor's approval. Council suspended the rules, declared that ordinance an emergency and adopted it in the same roll-call sequence.
Later in the meeting Councilwoman VanDyke moved to adopt Resolution 06-11-26-01, a supplemental appropriation of $5,987.15 from Supplies and Materials (non-office) to purchase a sonic wall for the village computer/server. The motion passed on roll call with the same voting pattern (President Snider absent).
