Three residents introduce themselves as candidates for two Pleasantville council seats

Brent Spangler, a project manager for Jess Howard and a five-year resident of 402 E. Columbus St., said he wants to boost visitation and attract businesses. Jennifer Cleland, who has lived at 120 W. Walnut St. since 2019 and recently earned a paralegal degree with honors, said she wants to help the village prosper for her four children.
The introductions were informal presentations to the council; no appointment or vote took place during the special meeting. Mayor Michelle Dumolt said the council needs to vote for a president pro tempore and that she will assign committee posts once council seats are filled and she assesses members’ strengths.
The next procedural steps recorded in the minutes are referral of rules and administrative items to committee and the council’s stated plan to consider appointments at a later meeting. The minutes do not record any formal motion, vote tally or timeline for filling the vacancies.
