River Ridge board accepts supervisor resignation, outlines process to fill Seat 1

The River Ridge CDD board accepted the resignation of Supervisor James Gilman (Seat 1, term to Nov. 2026) during its Aug. 27 meeting.
Cleo Adams presented Mr. Gilman’s resignation letter. Board members discussed outreach to fill the unexpired term: Mr. Blumenthal said the board consensus was to ask Mr. Long and The Meadows’ POA manager to e‑blast residents about the vacancy, explain candidate qualification requirements and request that interested candidates submit a resume or letter of interest before the next meeting. Items related to oath of office, required ethics training and Form 1/Form 8B disclosures were deferred to a future package.
On motion by Mr. Blumenthal and seconded by Mr. Twombly the board officially accepted the resignation. The board directed staff to include candidate submissions on the next agenda and to provide sample Form 1, ethics training guidance, membership responsibilities and conflict‑of‑interest memorandum templates as part of the onboarding materials.
