River Ridge CDD appoints resident Keith Merrill to fill vacant board seat

The River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors voted Oct. 22 to appoint Pelican Sound resident Keith Merrill to fill the vacant Seat 1, a term that expires in November 2026. The nomination came from Board Chair Bob Schultz and was seconded by Robert Twombly; the motion passed with all in favor.
Cleo Adams, the District Manager, administered the Oath of Office to Merrill after the appointment. Following the swearing-in, Adams and District Counsel Tony Pires walked the new board member through required disclosures and obligations, including filing Form 1, the Sunshine Amendment and the Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees, Form 8B for voting conflicts, and public-records and electronic-communications rules.
Schultz said Merrill has extensive HOA experience and “has contributed a great deal to the community” through prior neighborhood leadership roles, which the Chair said are similar to duties addressed by the CDD. No other nominations were made during the appointment discussion.
The Board confirmed the new slate of officers later in the meeting and scheduled staff to administer any outstanding oaths at the November meeting. The Board’s next meeting was rescheduled to Nov. 19, 2024.
