At its regular meeting the San Bernardino Union School District board approved several routine contracts and policy updates in unanimous votes among members present.
The board approved a renewal contract with Heartland Solutions to continue providing the point‑of‑sale system and data maintenance for the district’s nutrition services. Staff described the contract as a renewal of an existing service used successfully by the district.
The board also approved a consolidated Swank K–12 streaming license intended to give teachers access to a large catalog of films for classroom use instead of site‑by‑site licenses. District staff said the service offers more than 40,000 titles and will simplify instructional access across sites.
Finally, the board approved CSBA policy manual maintenance for May 2026, which staff said reflects statutory and regulatory changes and includes language clarifications and updated district contact information. The board discussed one notable policy implication — that some volunteers will now be treated as mandated reporters — and asked staff to prepare additional communication materials and options for fee coverage.
All motions approved at the meeting were announced by the chair as passing 3–0. The board’s next regular meeting is scheduled for July 22, 2026.
