Salisbury board notes revised Merrimack Valley School District assessment, to review bids and a permit question raised in public comment

The Salisbury Board of Selectmen on Jan. 7 received a revised assessment letter from the Merrimack Valley School District showing an assessment of $253,205.22 through May 2026, down from a previously noted $256,453.82. Town Administrator April Rollins provided the figures to the board.
The board also noted it has received bids for projects including a sand & salt shed and septic design and will review those bids at a future meeting. Chair Jim Hoyt said the bids will be considered at the next meeting; no award decisions were made on Jan. 7.
During public comment, resident Bill MacDuffie Sr. asked how the town could be receiving bids for a driveway when a DES permit—needed to determine the driveway's location—has not yet been completed. Chair Hoyt said the board would discuss the issue. Attendees also noted that Cheryl Bentley had been unable to reach DES regarding permitting.
