Policies: On recommendation from the Policy Subcommittee, the committee approved two policies—JICJ (Student Use of Technology in Schools) and JICK (Harassment of Students). Members agreed to add “political affiliation” to the harassment policy’s list of protected characteristics before adoption. The motion to accept both policies carried on a 5–0 roll call (Move: Brian Killeen; Second: Liz Joyce).
Grants: Two PTO‑funded grants (HES Recess Equipment and TBMS Inclusivity: Partnership with Jamele Adam) were approved by a 5–0 roll‑call vote (Move: Amy Morton; Second: Abigail Besse). Committee members thanked the PTO for the grants.
Minutes and other procedural items: The minutes of Dec. 8 and Dec. 15 were approved without objection. At 9:13 p.m., the committee voted 5–0 to enter executive session to discuss strategy related to collective bargaining with the Harvard Educators’ Association (Move: Brian Killeen; Second: Liz Joyce).
