The Fall River Planning Board presented a citation July 8 recognizing "Mario" for 19 years of service to the board and to the Italian community in Fall River.
A committee member introduced the citation, praising Mario’s long service, community events and visits to Bicentennial Park to honor those who have passed. "He's done great, great things for the city of Fall River," the committee member said. The citation recognized Mario’s ‘‘dedicated service and commitment to the city of Fall River planning board.’’
Mario responded with remarks recalling a past health scare, thanking family, friends and colleagues for their support and expressing appreciation for being part of the community. Board members exchanged warm remarks and invited informal celebration after the meeting.
The presentation was a ceremonial agenda item; no formal policy or vote resulted from the citation.
