In a separate public hearing, representatives for the Herriman Hill CDBG‑funded housing project provided a construction update. The developer reported foundation, framing and many interior systems are complete across several of the six buildings comprising the 30‑unit project on Beck Drive; sprinkler, plumbing, electrical and HVAC rough inspections were reported complete in many units. The developer estimated an overall project cost of about $13,000,000 with roughly $5,000,000 remaining to finish work identified as punch‑list and final site items; the target schedule for completion was presented as July.
Board members asked for additional budget and square‑footage detail; staff and the developer supplied an estimated cost per square foot of roughly $300–$400, which participants said is typical for low‑income housing tax credit projects in the state. The hearing was informational — there were no votes on the project at the meeting.
What’s next: staff will continue to monitor the CDBG project and report progress; donors’ funds accepted are restricted to repairs to the community center and will be used per donor designation.
