Beaumont recognizes World Day Against Trafficking; Embracing Freedom announces Brandis drop‑in center is open

The City of Beaumont proclaimed July 30, 2026, World Day Against Trafficking in Persons during its July 7 proclamation presentation. Britney Delagarza, introduced as Education Coordinator for Embracing Freedom, accepted the proclamation and announced that the Brandis drop‑in center is open and serving youth with basic necessities, food and counseling.
Delagarza said the drop‑in center provides a nonjudgmental space where young people can access services and that more information is available on the group's social media and website. She warned that traffickers commonly target young people who are homeless or on the streets, saying that within 48 hours of leaving home a young person can be approached by a trafficker.
