The RSU 23 board unanimously approved revisions to the 2015–2016 school calendar on Aug. 12 to coordinate dates across the district and to add start and early-release times. Peter Flaherty moved the calendar revision and Stuart Hogan seconded the motion.
Board members said the calendar changes include added high school dates and adjusted open-house schedules. The revision was described as a minor change to align the three schools and adult-education scheduling.
Separately, district staff outlined new bus routing: a single run for grades 6–12 and separate PreK–5 runs, with two runs planned for each elementary school. Officials said route times will be refined during the first weeks of school and that route and timing information will be provided to the Journal Tribune, posted on district and school websites, and shared at school open houses.
The board did not record any public objections to the calendar or routing changes during the meeting. The calendar changes take effect for the 2015–2016 school year and staff will communicate final route times to families before classes begin.
