Lincoln County Planning Commission approves plats, ATM site plans and multiple home-occupation permits

The Lincoln County Planning Commission on June 1 approved minutes, plat updates, two bank ATM site plans, a major subdivision construction plan and eight home-occupation permits during a 46-minute meeting at the Lincoln County Courthouse basement conference room.
Cole Blocker moved to approve the meeting minutes from May 4, 2026; Mike Bevels seconded and the commission approved the minutes by voice vote. Chairman Daniel Eldridge then introduced new-business items and Planner Traci Perkins read staff reports for each agenda item.
Commissioners voted to open and subsequently approve SR2026-1, a staff-initiated update covering preliminary and final plat and construction-site-certification procedures. David Sanders moved to approve SR2026-1 and Co-Chair Shelton Smith seconded; the motion passed by voice vote.
The commission approved site plans for two Bank of Lincoln County ATMs on Ardmore Highway and Huntsville Highway after a staff report and a single motion to approve both sites. The minutes record Cole Blocker as the mover and Danny Shelton as the seconder; the vote was recorded as approved with a note that David Sanders abstained on these ATM items.
Chad Mullins moved and Grad Wright seconded approval of the Southwind Estates major subdivision construction plan; the commission approved the plan. David Sanders moved and Mike Bevels seconded approval of Brady’s Corner SD Revision 3 (Phillips); the commission approved it.
The commission also approved a package of home-occupation permits after Planner Perkins read the staff reports. The permits approved included Wiser Cookie Co (117 Good Hollow Rd, Taft), Atchley Home Inspections LLC (215 McLemore Rd, Taft), Ray and Son Handyman Service (122 McGehee Rd, Elora), MBP Land Clearing (31 Robertson Hollow Rd, Taft), Brandon Swinford (electrical work, 3 Browning Dr, Fayetteville), Wilson Tactical Firearms (113 Poorhouse Rd, Taft), J & B Home Renovation (1 Boning Rd, Fayetteville), and Benton's Lawn Service (57 Tunstill Loop, Fayetteville). Each approval was made by motion and voice vote as recorded in the minutes.
With no public comment and no further business, Jimmy Sumners moved to adjourn, Cole Blocker seconded, and the commission adjourned at 6:46 p.m. The minutes include a note that they are unofficial until voted on and signed.
