Sugar Hill Select Board approves minutes, several permits and records utility and event notices

At its Aug. 18 meeting the Sugar Hill Select Board approved the Aug. 11 minutes, granted multiple building permits and a septic approval, accepted a $756.95 six‑month cable franchise payment, approved Meetinghouse use for Nov. 8, 2025, and recorded an Eversource notice about cross‑arm replacement using the Ski Hearth field.
The Sugar Hill Select Board on Aug. 18 approved the regular and nonpublic minutes from Aug. 11, 2025 after a motion by Selectman Dick Bielefield and a second from Selectman Rusty Talbot; the motion passed unanimously.
The board approved several property permits recorded in the minutes: a 10-by-16 shed for Rose Ellms (Map 210, Lot 4); a garage for Bob Benson (Map 208, Lot 3); an electrical permit for Gary Way (Map 214, Lot 24); and renovations for Paul Fresolone (Map 207, Lot 12). The minutes also record approval of septic operation for Etzel (Map 220, Lot 47) and a one-year extension for Herb Lahout (Map 219, Lot 16).
Officials recorded receipt of a six-month cable franchise fee from Charter Communications in the amount of $756.95, and approved use of the Meetinghouse by the North Country Chamber Players for Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025.
The board noted an Eversource notification that cross-arm replacement work will take place on Garnet Hill Road and that the utility will use the field at Ski Hearth during the work. Selectman Chris Ellms provided an update about replacement of maple trees and rocks on Streeter Pond Road on the Cliff Hughes property; the minutes treat this as an informational update.
The minutes also show the board discussed the town’s definition of a temporary building; no formal change to the definition was recorded at the meeting.
The meeting adjourned at 6:06 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 25, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the Crapo Building.
