Selectmen notes: planning hearing set, U199 update, town signs, and other routine business

The board noted no U199 work in Sugar Hill last week, prepared for a Planning Board hearing on Blue Sky Towers on Aug. 6, acknowledged a thank-you from the Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust, reported no contact from 603 Solar on a reimbursement, and scheduled installation of new town signs the week of Aug. 11.
At their Aug. 4 meeting, the Sugar Hill selectmen handled a series of routine items.
The board recorded U199 updates and noted there had been no work in Sugar Hill during the previous week. Officials were informed that the Planning Board will hold a conceptual hearing on Aug. 6, 2025 for a project called Blue Sky Towers and that town boards will attend that session.
The selectmen acknowledged a thank-you note from the Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust for use of the Meetinghouse during the group's 25th anniversary celebration. The minutes also note there has been no communication from 603 Solar regarding reimbursement when a town solar array was not working; that matter remains unresolved in the minutes.
New town signs are scheduled for installation the week of Aug. 11; the board thanked Judy and Larry Sawyer, Peter Carbonneau, and Road Agent Doug Glover and his crew for preparatory work. Selectman Chris Ellms said he had spoken with Cliff Hughes about rocks needing replacement at the Indian Brook Bridge and will consult Road Agent Doug Glover; the board plans to draft a letter explaining the town right-of-way and the highway department's authority to work in it.
With no further business, the board adjourned at 5:08 p.m. The next regular meeting is scheduled for Aug. 11, 2025 at 5 p.m. at the Crapo Building.
