Cook Memorial Library Board of Trustees convened on April 13, 2026. Chair Allie Kaplan-Thompson called the meeting to order at 5:40 p.m., and the board recorded attendance and routine business.
The board voted to approve the March 8, 2026 meeting minutes as amended. Trustee Courtney Spalding-Mayer moved to approve the minutes (clarifying that the town election is the next day and removing the phrase 'are open'); Kevin Mahoney seconded the motion and it carried. The financial report, with a note that some percentages will be corrected, was accepted after a motion from Sherryl Hitte and a second from Courtney Spalding-Mayer.
In committee business, the nominating committee presented a slate of officers and assignments. The board agreed that Allie Kaplan-Thompson will continue as chair; Sherryl Hitte will serve as vice chair; Kristel Faris as treasurer and Eleanor Aparicio as vice treasurer; Kevin Mahoney will chair the technology committee and serve on nominating; Courtney Spalding-Mayer will remain liaison to Friends of CML and serve on personnel. Courtney moved to put forward the slate; Kevin seconded, and the motion was approved.
The meeting closed with a motion to adjourn by Courtney Spalding-Mayer, seconded by Sherryl Hitte; the board adjourned at 7:05 p.m. Minutes were submitted by recording secretary Melissa Donaldson; the minutes also note the next trustees' meeting as Monday, May 11 (date listed in the minutes).
