At their Aug. 25 meeting, the Sugar Hill Selectmen approved the minutes from Aug. 18, 2025, approved a small building permit and later voted to enter a sealed nonpublic session under state statute.
Selectman Richard Bielefield moved to approve the Aug. 18 minutes; Selectman Rusty Talbot seconded and the motion passed unanimously, the minutes record. The board approved a building permit for a 7-by-7-foot entry at 629 Dyke Road (Map 226, Lot 17); the minutes do not record a mover or seconder for that vote.
With no more business, Selectman Talbot moved to adjourn and Selectman Bielefield seconded; the record shows the meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m. The minutes then show a motion by Selectman Chris Ellms, seconded by Selectman Talbot, to enter nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:3, II(c) (matters that, if discussed publicly, would likely affect the reputation of a person). Roll-call votes to enter nonpublic were recorded as Yes from Richard Bielefield, Chris Ellms and Rusty Talbot; the board moved to nonpublic at 5:35 p.m.
Selectman Talbot moved to seal the nonpublic minutes and Selectman Ellms seconded; roll-call votes to seal were Yes from Bielefield, Ellms and Talbot and the motion passed. The board left nonpublic session and adjourned at 5:58 p.m. The minutes were submitted by Town Administrator Jennifer Gaudette.
The minutes do not disclose the subject of the nonpublic session; they cite RSA 91-A:3, II(c) as the statutory basis for confidentiality.
