Representatives of Heart of Poseyville and Grow Poseyville briefed the Town Council on March 11 about the Annual Pick-up Poseyville Day and a proposed Main Street clock.
Heart of Poseyville representative Jenifer Neidig outlined the schedule for the cleanup day set for April 10, 2025 (weather permitting), said the town and police department will provide dumpsters (one to be located at 64 W Main St), and noted Grow Poseyville hopes to install hanging planters the same day and are forming a Garden Club to maintain them. She said all items should be placed at the curb the night before or early the morning of the event or taken directly to the dumpsters.
Justin Collins of Grow Poseyville described a proposed ornamental Town Clock and discussed possible locations. Council and staff noted there is no nearby electric access at the west corner of Main and North Cale Street and that boring to pull power would be costly; councilors agreed the front of Town Hall would provide easier access to electricity and could help expand Main Street beautification to businesses further down the street. The group also discussed a solar-powered clock as an option to allow alternative placements.
Council members expressed appreciation for the volunteer efforts and for Grow Poseyville and Heart of Poseyville sponsoring the initiatives but noted that any town assistance with installation would need to be budgeted at least a year in advance. The council did not take final action on clock placement or funding at the March 11 meeting.
