Selectboard to assess oil tank at old Public Works building; approves manifests and minutes

Meeting participant Suzanne Goulet told the Selectboard an oil tank remains in the old Public Works building and the board agreed to determine whether any oil remains and whether the tank should be filled or removed. The board noted a paste test could be used to check for oil and agreed to contact Rymes to assess the tank.
The board approved manifests (signed documents include two abatements, a reservation from the Cohos Historical Society, Chapple Funeral paperwork and a Stinson wedding booking), with Selectman Charlie Goulet and Selectman Ron Scott Jr. approving signatures for Aug. 11 and Aug. 25, 2025. The minutes show the manifests were approved 2-0 for signature.
For new business the board approved the minutes from the Aug. 11 meeting (motion by Ron Scott, seconded by Charlie Goulet). The board received a job application for a maintenance-worker position and briefly discussed purchasing a trailer for hauling town equipment such as lawn mowers; no purchase decision was recorded. The meeting adjourned at 4:45 p.m.; minutes were prepared by Vanessa Toner.
Next steps: staff will contact Rymes to assess the tank and the Tax Collector’s Office will send notices related to tax-deeding matters previously discussed.
