The Stratford Selectboard approved routine municipal business at its Aug. 11 meeting in Fuller Town Hall.
Selectmen Charles Goulet and Ron Scott Jr. approved manifests for July 28 and Aug. 4, 2025 (recorded as approved 2–0). The board signed documents including an Invasive Species Contract, a building certificate for Team Sunshine, a reservation for the Cohos Historical Society, and event paperwork. Ron Scott moved and Charles Goulet seconded approval of the July 28 minutes; the board also accepted the resignation of a maintenance worker with the same movers listed in the minutes.
Selectman Harry Juergens proposed marking the Town Hall stairs with reflective paint or tape to improve visibility; the motion to approve that safety marking was made by Ron Scott and seconded by Charles Goulet and recorded as approved. Juergens also reported the planning board had received a driveway permit for a newly purchased property on Christy Road; the Selectboard reviewed and approved the permit.
Why it matters: Routine approvals maintain town operations and allow payment processing, facility repairs and event scheduling to proceed. Acceptance of a maintenance worker resignation may prompt future hiring or reallocation of duties; the minutes and manifests provide the official record.
What’s next: Staff will follow up on personnel and procurement matters as required. The meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m.; minutes were prepared by Vanessa Toner.
